The RISD Council of PTAs (click to visit the RISD Council of PTAs website), composed of 56 local PTA units (1 early childhood, 41 elementary, 9 junior high/freshman center and 4 high school units) and nearly 15,000 members, is the largest anchor for child advocacy and school volunteerism in the Richardson school district.
The Council of PTAs works to support the children and youth of RISD by strengthening parent involvement and community commitment to our local schools. Serving as "Partners in Education" with the RISD, the Council of PTAs works with educators in all grade levels and serves as a liaison between the classroom and the community. Affiliated with the National and Texas Congress of PTAs, the Council of PTAs is part of the largest and oldest child advocacy organization in the United States, and actively supports the goals of National PTA through local programs and events. Above all, the Council of PTAs strives to improve the educational opportunities for all children and youth.
