Introduction to Inside RISD
In January 2006, RISD launched Inside RISD, a year-long program designed to provide parents and community members a behind-the-scenes, in-depth look at Richardson Independent School District.
Early morning sessions, held once a month, during the school year, focus on areas such as:
- Student Engagement
- Governance & Finance
- Fine Arts
- Instructional Technology
- Athletics & Extra-Curricular Activities
- Elementary Curriculum
- Secondary Curriculum
- Accountability
- Community Engagement
- Special Education
- Facility Services
- Student Services
The location of each monthly session varies, providing participants an opportunity to see a variety of district facilities and experience, first-hand, the many interesting and innovative happenings in our schools.
Each year principals may recommend a limited number of emerging leaders from their community to receive an invitation to participate.
Class participants and past graduates of the program, called “Insiders,” are many times future members of district committees and teams – those who can help make a difference in the school community as opinion leaders.
