A Guide for Parents with Students in Special Education Many times the parent of students served by special education are unsure about whom they should contact when questions or concerns arise. The information provided is intended to foster effective communication between parents and school district personnel. Most questions and concerns are specific to your child and your home school. Contact with your child's teacher should always be your first step. If your child's teacher is not able to answer your questions or address your concerns, then the principal is the person in the best position to help you.
