Visual Arts and Advanced Placement Studio Art – 35 visual arts students medaled at regional Visual Art Scholastic Event with 6 selected to go on to State competition; 8 BHS visual arts student works were selected to participate in TVAA juried exhibit; BHS art students won the Gordon B. Norris Scholarship Award and the Dr. Jacob L. Kay Memorial Award for Photography; 1st, 2nd, 3rd (experimental/black and white) at the Huffhines/Library Show; 1st, 2nd, 3rdplace, (people/black and white) at the Huffhines/Library Show, Young American Talent Juried Show; RCAS Winners in 3rd placed individual; RCAS Honorable mention portfolio award, 2007.

Student Council - Sponsored various school activities including Spirit Week, Data-Match, Homecoming game festivities, and senior recognition night; community service projects -- hosted foreign exchange students from Mexico, sponsored “Adopt-a-Rocket” program for Richland Elementary School students resulting in $4000+ Berkner student contributions of toys and clothing, sponsored a Network of Community Ministries’ canned food drive, replenished the shelves of the Dallas Life Foundation homeless shelter, 2007.

Bandoleras - Officer Awards: Circle of Stars, Perfect Sweepstakes, Silver Star Award (Lyrical), Gold Star Awards (Modern and Hip Hop), Choreography Awards (Modern and Lyrical), Technique Awards; Team Awards: Perfect Sweepstakes, Circle of Stars, Five Star Award (Jazz and Modern), Gold Star Award (Team Modern), Bronze Star Award (Dance Team Jazz), Gold Star Award (Dance Team Modern), Star Award (Team Hip Hop), Showmanship Award (All Routines), Choreography Award (Team Modern) 4 Solo finalists; Officer Crowdpleaser Awards: Gold Sweepstakes, Super Sweepstakes, Best in Class, Officer Lyrical 1st Place, Officer Modern 1st Place, Officer Hip Hop 1st Place, Showcase Elite (top scoring officers), 2 Solo finalists, 2006.
