For the past three years, CVS Caremark employees have donated school supplies and funds to more than 3,000 students across the district.  This year they expanded their partnership by adopting Thurgood Marshall Elementary in the Lake Highlands area.  They have united their employees to donate school supplies and uniforms, volunteer for school events, mentor, and provide Thanksgiving dinners and holiday gifts. The Healing Hands Ministries Medical & Dental Clinic provides low-cost, comprehensive medical and dental care to the neediest students and families of RISD.  Located in the Lake Highlands, area, the three-year old clinic's services include pediatric care, well-woman care, diabetes education, laboratory services, asthma education, prescription drug benefits, monthly immunizations, social service referrals, and specialty care clinics such as orthopedics and rheumatology.

For the second consecutive year, the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League has provided uniforms and holiday gifts for more than 100 Skyview Elementary families. Their generous donation has brought much holiday cheer! >Top

Recently, 150 Spring Valley Elementary families were provided holiday dinners by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) organization at the University of Texas at Dallas.  The LULAC students have donated holiday dinners for RISD families for the past three years. >Top

My Very Own Book Club is a non-profit organization that was established to run reading incentive programs in elementary schools in low-income neighborhoods in North Texas school districts. In its first year this dynamic organization has partnered with Audelia Creek Elementary and will begin working with Spring Valley Elementary in the spring of 2010. More than 1,300 Pre-K and Kindergarten students attended the City of Richardson’s Annual Santa’s Village last Friday morning! Our littlest students had an opportunity to visit with Santa, paint their noses red like Rudolf, make holiday ornaments with elves, and enjoy many other holiday activities and treats. >Top
