If RISD students have forgotten or do not yet have school identification, administrators from each RISD secondary school will be on hand to assist with identification.
Like last season, unescorted individuals of student age who cannot produce an RISD identification, or otherwise be satisfactorily identified, may not be allowed entry. Unescorted students from non-RISD schools who are not affiliated with the visiting team will not be permitted to enter the game.
RISD has worked directly with the Dallas and Richardson police departments to ensure the safest, most enjoyable environment possible for home football games, and the RISD community can expect a visible security presence, both outside and inside the stadiums.
Everyone's cooperation and understanding is truly appreciated. |

STEP OUT IN LAKE HIGHLANDS COMMUNITY WALK |
 |
 |
|
 |
Your help is requested as a volunteer at Forest Meadow Junior High as they continue their "Step Out in Lake Highlands Community Walk."
Volunteers will reach out to every family in their attendance area by personally taking information packets and an invitation to join the PTA to all FMJH families living in apartments. The successful program encourages underrepresented families to become more involved in the school.
If you have a free afternoon on Sunday, Sept. 10, please consider joining community members for the walk. A free T-shirt goes to each participant. Bring the whole family for this family-oriented community walk. Contact Julie Blettner at 214-553-0473 or asjd@sbcglobal.net to sign up. >Top |

This honeylime turkey breast fajita recipe, served regularly in RISD cafeterias, was entered in a contest National School Nutrition Association conference in Los Angeles this summer, and won first place. This dish is regularly served in RISD at the high schools. Congratulations to Child Nutrition. Here is the recipe:
HoneyLime Turkey Fajitas
1 lb. turkey breast, cooked
1/4 cup salad oil
2 Tbsp. Lime Juice
2 Tbsp. raw honey
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/4 cups raw onions
1 1/4 cups sweet peppers, raw
10 6" tortillas
|
| |
|
|
Cut turkey breast into strips, 1/4 " wide by 2 to 3" long, place in a steam table (remember this is a school cafeteria recipe) and add honey, lime juice, oil, chili powder and garlic powder. Mix well.
Allow to marinate for 2 to 3 hours.
Bake uncovered in 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
Slice onions and peppers into strips. Toss in salad oil to coat. Steam until limp and soft.

Beginning today, look for new school photos across the top of the district website, www.risd.org. Each month, five or six schools will show off their students in a creative banner. The individual school photos will display randomly each time the site is pulled up. Schools are scheduled throughout the year, so sometime during the next 10 months, your favorite school will be there. Keep looking for our great kids and for all the news and information you need about RISD, a Recognized district! >Top |
