Recently Pearce High School Japanese Club members made strings of 500 paper cranes to donate to the children's hospital at Medical City.
The crane is a symbol of peace, longevity
and celebration in Japan, and the Japanese people often make strings
of paper cranes as a prayer for recovery from illness.
The Japanese
club members spent hours making paper cranes wishing good luck and
quick recovery for those children in the hospital. >Top |

Sixty RISD community partners from across the district gathered Friday morning to plan for RISD's 2nd Annual Back to School Rally. Corporations, small businesses, churches, and services leagues voiced their interest to volunteer and contribute to provide school supplies, free immunizations, free haircuts, and much more for RISD students in need of extra assistance.
This year's Rally will be hosted by the First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park on August 16th. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact Community Relations Coordinator Celina Cárdenas at 469-593-0307 or celina.cardenas@risd.org.
