Serving as a Substitute in RISD
Thank you for your interest in serving as a Substitute in Richardson ISD. Our mission is to serve and prepare all students for their global future. Goal 3 of our district’s Vision 2020 plan is to maintain high performing, student focused teachers.
Beginning September 2011, RISD now requires an online application for all substitute positions. New and returning substitutes will need to submit an online application by clicking on the “Start an application for employment” link below. Once an application is submitted, changes can be made by clicking on “Login to an existing account.”
Please contact the RISD Department of Human Resources at 469.593.0267 from 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday – Thursday or 8 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday, if you have questions, need additional information or assistance to complete the online application.
Requirements to Serve as a Substitute in RISD
Teacher Substitutes
RISD is accepting substitute teacher applications from individuals who hold a Texas Educator Certificate or a valid teaching certificate from another state.
Paraprofessional Substitutes
Paraprofessional applicants must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
