Thank you for your interest in Richardson ISD. Our mission is to serve and prepare all students for their global future. Goal 3 of our district’s Vision 2020 plan is to maintain high performing, student focused teachers.
Beginning Nov. 1, 2011, RISD requires an online application for all professional and paraprofessional applicants. If you applied before Nov. 1, 2011 you must reapply using the new system to be given consideration for employment. To begin the online application, click on the "Start an application for employment" link below. Once an application is submitted, changes can be made by clicking on “Login to an existing account.”
Please contact the RISD Department of Human Resources at 469-593-0264 for questions related to professional applications, or 469-593-0267 for questions related to paraprofessional applications. Our offices are open from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday and 8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
Requirements to serve as a Professional or Paraprofessional in RISD
Teachers
RISD is accepting teacher applications from individuals who hold a Texas Educator Certificate, or a valid teaching certificate from another state and are in the process of attaining a Texas Educator Certificate, or are enrolled in an alternative certification program. Alternative certification applications will only be considered in area of high need such as special education, secondary math and science, bilingual, and/or other areas as deemed necessary.
Paraprofessionals
Paraprofessional applicants must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
Administrative Central and Campus - Professional Support
RISD is also accepting applications for instructional and non-instructional
central and campus support positions. Applicants should refer to the job posting for required certifications and/or qualifications.

Note: RISD Employees who have a desire to apply for other positions in the district must access the internal application. RISD is not currently accepting employee transfer requests. Transfers are available beginning in late March through the first of June. Please refer to the RISD Employee Handbook for more information on transfer eligibility.
