RISD will implement a new application system this spring.
To avoid duplicating your effort, you may consider postponing your
application submission until such time. All applicants will be required to
apply or reapply using the new application system. Thank you for your

Steps for Submitting an Application for a Professional Position at RISD
1) Complete the online application form.
Applicants for paraprofessional and secretarial positions should not use this application form. Instead, use the online application form for Paraprofessional Positions.
To access the online application form for teacher and professional administrative positions, please click the button below.
Additional forms must be printed out, filled in by hand and mailed to RISD to supplement your online application. You will be instructed to download these additional forms once you have reached the confirmation page of the online form.*
2) Provide additional documents that are necessary to complete your application.
In addition to filling out the online form, please submit:
- A copy of a valid teaching certificate and/or a recent graduate letter of recommendation for certification.
- A copy of your transcripts.
- A resumé.
- A letter of interest, if you are applying for a position other than that of teacher.
You may bring these documents with you if you are invited for an employment interview, or mail them in advance to:

For your application to be considered, a reference must be received from your cooperating teacher(s) if you are currently a student teacher, your supervising principal if you are currently a teacher, or your supervisor if you are not teaching.
Please provide each of the references with a reference form and a stamped envelope addressed to:

Teacher Reference Form
Print 4 copies of the Teacher Reference Form (PDF) if you are applying for a teacher, librarian, speech therapist or nurse position.
Posted Professional Position Reference Form
Print 4 copies of the Posted Professional Position Reference Form (PDF) if you are applying for a counselor position, or a position other than teacher.
Campus Administrator Reference Form
Print 4 copies of the Campus Administrator Reference Form (PDF) if you are applying for a principal or assistant principal position.
It is your responsibility to distribute the CORRECT reference forms to the persons listed on your application.
* If you are unable to download the forms, they can be sent to you upon request, either via email, or by regular mail. To request forms, send an email to hr.applications@risd.org.
