The Health Care Plan allows you to set aside dollars from your salary on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible medical, dental, vision, and hearing expenses not covered by insurance plans. This might include charges for co-payments, deductibles, co-insurance, prescription co-pays, glasses, etc.
The Dependent Care Plan allows you to set aside dollars from your salary on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible dependent care expenses, such as day care for children or a disabled spouse. This gives you the opportunity to take your dependent care tax credits throughout the plan year rather than at the end of the year.
