Forest Meadow Jr. High students choose to Stand Beautiful

Chloe Howard speaks to Forest Meadow Jr. High students

Students at Forest Meadow Junior High had the opportunity to be inspired by teen motivational speaker Chloe Howard. Chloe is the voice of Stand Beautiful, an anti-bullying movement that promotes the acceptance of self and others. This event was a part of the FMJH Motivational Meetings, assemblies that are designed to inspire and motivate students.

Born with a foot deformity, Chloe has had numerous operations and faced daunting challenges. In 2014, she was the victim of assault and bullying at her high school.  “A part of me was revealed that I wanted to hide the most,” said Chloe.  “My foot was different and I had been proud of it, but at that moment I felt ashamed and used.”

Six months later, she courageously began telling her story and now travels the world spreading her anti-bullying message, while inspiring others to accept the differences that make them unique.  “It is time to redefine normal,” believes Howard. “Why do we try and put ourselves into a cookie cutter mold when we can each be perfect in our imperfect way?”

Chloe’s message reminds students that bullying can come in many different forms and when you love and accept yourself, you are less likely to inflict pain and shame on others.  Her message focuses on stopping bullying through loving and accepting who you are.

“Chloe came to Forest Meadow with a powerful, relatable message,” said FMJH Assistant Principal Casey Gray.  “I believe she will change the lives of our students and we are so thankful she was able to spend time speaking on such a tough subject.”

Her mission is to empower people to embrace their uniqueness, boldly face their beautiful selves and Stand Beautiful. She hopes to inspire students to “accept your insecurities, celebrate who you are and along the way, be nice to others.”
