Student Assistance |

The RISD Student Assistance Program (S.A.P.) seeks to promote safe and drug-free schools. The S.A.P. aims to identify troubled students and connect them with the helping services available in schools or in the community.
The goals of the Student Assistance Programs are to:
- Prevent tobacco, alcohol and other drug use through education
- Promote healthy and safe life choices
- Teach and model conflict management skills
- Develop community partnerships
- Provide a referral and support system
We provide such services as:
- Early intervention and prevention for students through education
- Drug and violence prevention programs for students, parents and community
- Anti-bullying education/training
- Teacher/staff inservice
- School counselor consultation
- Support groups
- Prevention education in classroom presentations
- Red Ribbon Drug Awareness Week Coordination
- Video resource library
- Parent support resource library
- Training components
