Richardson Independent School District provides a continuum of programs for students between the ages of 3 and 21 with disabilities. Children who have visual or auditory impairments may receive services at birth. Our goal is to assist students in their intellectual, developmental, socio/emotional, physical, and communicative growth, empowering them to participate successfully in society.
Once a student with a possible need for special education is identified, our department works closely with his or her parents and educators to assess the student’s needs and develop, if necessary, an Individual Development Plan (IDP).
We encourage parents to provide feedback and share ideas regarding how our department can better serve its students. If you would like to provide such feedback, please click here.
