Instructional technology support is provided through the district Library Media Centers, and the RISD Professional Ibrary (RPL).
Library media specialists receive special training in order to offer students, teachers and building staff appropriate direction relating to technology support materials.
The library program is an integral part of the instructional program and provides the following electronic resources to support the curriculum, goals, and objectives of the district:
- RISD Online Catalog
- Britannica
- ASCD Resources
- Discovery Education Streaming
- EBSCO
- eLibrary Curriculum Edition
- Culturegrams
- Facts on File
- Pebble Go

The online databases are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to students and teachers via the campus library websites. These databases and other library resources benefit students and teachers by providing avenues for exploration, discovery, and creativity.
In addition to supporting campuses through instructional technology, Library Media Services strives to teach information literacy in collaboration with classroom teachers within the context of the content curriculum, inspire and develop a love of reading, as well as provide diverse materials and services to enable students to become life-long learners and effective users of information. |
